The first look of coaches of Humsafar train wrapped in sky blue vinyl sheets with earthy red border, equipped with CCTV and fire safety devices.
Manufactured at Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, 21 Humsafar coaches will be despatched to New Delhi station next month.
The coaches will also be equipped with LED bulbs and multiple power points for charging mobile phones and laptops. To ensure hygiene and cleanliness, these coaches will have plush bio-toilets and newly-designed dustbins.
While the coaches will have improved aesthetics, the colour scheme on the exterior will have a futuristic look with the use of vinyl sheets.
Humsafar Express Trains
Humsafar Express trains are high-speed long distance express trains with AC 3 tier accommodation only aimed at upper-middle-class people. No, they are not like Garib Rath trains because Garib Raths feature high capacity 3A coaches with 81 berths and side middle berths, while Humsafar trains will have the usual 3A LHB coaches with added features and optional meal service. And also, while Garib Raths have 30% less fare than normal trains, Humsafar expresses will have 30% more fare than normal. Humsafar trains seem to be aimed at lengthy routes between some major cities with the intent of covering important intermediate destinations as well.
They all have very aggressive schedules and seemingly high running speeds. Their rakes will be specially designed and painted in unique liveries, but will not be as posh as Tejas.
According to the schedule, while Anand Vihar-Gorakhpur Hamsafar Express will be tri-weekly, rest of nine Hamsafar will be weekly service.
